Presumed to be among the "Brackets glasses etc." purchased by George Washington from James Reynolds in 1791. Thomas and Martha Peter purchased "2 brackets and gerendoles" from Martha Washington's estate sale in 1802. MS 3, Box 2, Folder 43. Passing by descent to their daughter Britannia Wellington Peter Kennon and in 1911 thence to her grandson Armistead Peter, Jr. |
