According to a note written by Armistead Peter Jr. "Mahogany Chest, Capt. B. Kennon - No. 2. This chest belonged to my maternal Grandfather - who was killed by the explosion of the Peacemaker on the U.S.S. Princeton, Feby. 28th 1844 - and was used as one of his seachests. In later years, it was used by my Grandmother, as the silver chest of Tudor Place, Georgetown DC." Armistead Peter Jr. received it as part of the 1911 division. |
