Object History |
In a letter to Armistead Peter Jr., from Armistead Peter 3rd, Peter 3rd notes the hanging lamp was purchased as a Christmas gift to his father from an antique dealer in New York for Christmas 1926. According to Armistead Peter 3rd, Tudor Place (1969), page 50: "the hanging light fixture in this hall, although appropriate to it, is not an original one. There is an original globe that belonged to the place, which is in the attic of the garage, but it had no fittings. It had no chain, no band, no smoke guard or anything else to go with it, so many years ago I got this one to go in the place in which you see it." |
