Object History |
While Beaux was working on a portrait of French Prime Minister Georges Clemenceau in Paris in 1920, she borrowed the studio space of sculptor Paul Wayland Bartlett at 15 rue de Cherche Midi. To show her appreciation, she created this sketch of Bartlett’s step-daughter, Caroline Ogden-Jones, the future wife of Armistead Peter 3rd. Later Beaux returned to the sketch and produced oil painting 6026w9054. |
